Job Description

Summary:

Responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing the operations of the Maintenance Department to ensure plant equipment and facilities are maintained safely, efficiently, and in alignment with sound engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of all production equipment and facilities.
  • Build, manage, and support a qualified maintenance team capable of sustaining all plant equipment and infrastructure.
  • Design and implement a robust predictive and preventive maintenance program to reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Ensure all operational equipment is maintained in optimal working condition.
  • Schedule necessary repairs to minimize disruption to operations.
  • Recommend equipment or facility modifications and replacements to improve efficiency and reduce maintenance costs.
  • Manage the maintenance of all plant transportation assets.
  • Ensure proper care, organization, and maintenance of all tools and maintenance equipment.
  • Oversee the upkeep and repair of all plant buildings and infrastructure.
  • Review and approve all repair and maintenance requisitions and invoices.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives and efficiency improvements through lean manufacturing principles.
  • Develop and manage the annual maintenance budget to support all required activities.
  • Track and report monthly performance against budget targets.
  • Maintain adequate inventory and control over spare parts and maintenance supplies.
  • Lead employee training, development, and safety initiatives within the maintenance team.
  • Handle employee discipline as needed to maintain department standards.



Job Requirements:

  • B.S. in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical preferred) with 8–10 years of relevant experience in equipment and facilities maintenance.
  • Proven track record of managing maintenance operations, including planning, organizing, coordinating, and leading a team.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a maintenance management role within a manufacturing and/or food processing environment.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of process, packaging, and service equipment; prior food industry experience is strongly preferred.
  • Ideally, 8–10 years of experience in food manufacturing as a Maintenance Leader.
  • A degree is not required for candidates with substantial field experience.
  • Must be available and responsive to after-hours calls, including 24/7 availability.
