Responsibilities

• Continuously seek out areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency and consistency throughout the department
• Promote and apply lean manufacturing practices, including 5S, root cause analysis, and Kaizen events, to drive operational excellence
• Define and structure roles and responsibilities for both direct and indirect team members to support a productive and efficient operation
• Take full ownership of the department’s budget, ensuring accuracy in standards, BOMs, and overall cost efficiency across related areas like sanitation and warehouse
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams such as Quality, Maintenance, R&D, Scheduling, Finance, and HR to ensure alignment and smooth day-to-day operations

Qualifications

• 10+ years in food manufacturing leadership
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Experienced with ERP/MRP systems
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
• Uses a team-based leadership style focused on employee engagement and empowerment
• Excellent time management and multitasking
• Skilled in tracking production processes to reduce costs, waste, downtime, and material variances
• Able to coach, train, and mentor team members at all levels
• Budgeting and financial analysis expertise
• Strategic thinker with focus on continuous improvement
• Process analysis and problem-solving skills
• Experienced in setting goals and tracking performance using KPIs Clear and accountable leadership style
• Engineering degree preferred
• Green Belt certification a plus
